Green smoothies can be made with so many different fruits and vegetables. It’s a great way to use up a plethora of summer produce! You just need to know the correct ratio of fruit to vegetable to water.

This recipe is a template that you can use to create your own green smoothie flavors. All you have to do is plug your favorite fruits and veggies into the ingredient list above!

Some of our favorite combos are:

  • frozen mango, banana, cucumber, fennel and spinach
  • mixed berry, avocado, cucumber and mint
  • pineapple, banana, avocado, mint, basil
  • peeled orange, frozen pineapple, cucumber, arugula, lettuce

Use fruits and veggies that are growing in your area this time of year – eating locally is good for your body and for the planet.

Pro tip: Make sure that you are using a high speed blender (like a Vitamix) in order to get a smooth consistency, especially if you are using harder vegetables like celery, cucumber, apples, carrots, etc.

What is your favorite green smoothie fruit/veggie combo?
